Hmmm... Well one way might be, let's say, cursing someone (is a base for a lot of legends; requires a lot of abilities) and another might be not giving the spirit his/shes peace to pass on so binding the spirit to this need of gaining it. Or something of that sort.

I was refering to binding to a specific objects. such as a ring or dagger and use thier essence to charge or enchant the item with a specific property. I've tried using my own energy but it's far too draining.

Now that my friend could prove harder to do. There have been cases when a spirit helps people with their energy but that is rare for they don't have much energy either if they don't get to charge it and besides - good luck on trying to find a spirit to do that for you and not have selfish intentions

To give an Item a special property. For instance I once had made an armband that kinetically pushed things away that came into it's contact area. It wore out after a week or so of use but made an effictive shield int the meantime. As for Ghosts/spirits I meant to forcibly drain what remained of thier essence to supplement my own efforts in creating more such items.

Well energy doesn't wear off anywhere, it just changes it's form. And I think it is very hard to take someone else's enegy for it something you just can't take without permission or else it is called energetical vampirism. And I do not know a lot of people who would be willing to give away their energy for they might need it themselves but furthermore, for spirits energy is what they are - concentration of energy. And spirits need energy to exist and even more to appear, move objects and basically do what they are here still for. In one words binding by force is simply wrong so you cn only try asking but I just don't see how could you do it without endangering yourself etc.

There is danger in channelling of any energy, espessially in the amounts needed for enchanting items. Handling too much energy can cause any number of problems including death and insanity which is why it is nessasarry to have something to channel it to, in my case an item, prefferably one that can hold a charge well, which usually means metal or living tissue. As for the morals of forcibly draining something, I don't really care, though I do try to take what I need from other sources first, such as myself, and use other sources as nessessary to complete whatever I am doing. I do agree that draining a sentient is impractical and I usually use electrical energy as a supplement, draining spirits was only a hypothetical side note in my current research.

i belive ghosts are real. iv had a few experiences with them. iv got one who is a child of a native american who follows me i call her A.D she has followed me since childhood. i first saw her when i was like 6. i see her off and on still. she seems to be protecting me from theings. see once i woke up at night cuse i heard a strange voice sayin get out of here. it was mean it was more like telling me i needed to go. it was a childs voice.i got out of bed to find that this electrical heater had broke and part of my room was on fire. i was able to get out wake my parents and get the pets and we got out in time. i belive A.D was the one who woke me and warned me. also i was at a haunted house once. the lemp manision. for one thing i smelled things like flowers in a certain room draft by you and then it be gone or a sewer smell in another room and then it be gone. in the attic no one was behind me but i felt someone there. they pulled my hair i had a skirt on and they tried to lift it some. appaerntly a little boy had died in that room. i also so a dog and a cat the dog was chasing the cat but there were no animals there. so i belive that place was haunted with many spirits good and bad. the bad were the ones who gave off the sewer smell. im very intrested in ghosts iv had other experiences with the dead. spirits ar enot ghosts there something dead that can revisit but ar enot trapped. i get visits all the time from my grandparents who have passed on. my grandfather loves to sacre me. he was like that though. i also have my dog pebbles who is GHOST i think. she died a few years ago and she was one of those dogs who wanted to protect us. i still see her in our yard i still feel her get in bed with me its odd but doesnt scare me. i have had problems with spirits before. going into a old cemetary at night with the oija board is not recomended. i did that and got a mean spirit bothering me. i was slapped cut had junks of hair ripped out of my head by unseen hands. thank god i got a priest in the family he did some prayers and it stopped i no longer mess with the oija board. i do belive and i know that there is something beyond this world becuase of it

We have a spirit living with us. This was was at one time his house and the house is 110 years old. He shows himself to all of us on a regular basis and carries on conversations with our grand daughter. We often hear her talking to him. he is watching over us and his home. He also has some fun with us, such as he will take items and hide them. They appear months later in the same spots we left them in the first place.
This is not the only experience I have had with ghosts or spirits but it is the longest and the least frightening.
