Okies , I decided I have to share this with someone .
The ghost living in my house is geting active , again ...
Mostly in my room . I read a chapter of a book every night before sleeping and while I was reading one night I hear the cieling creeking and then something small falling from it on the ground . I didn`t look for I am trying not to be interested in these things anymore (for the sakes of my goodnight sleep) . Not to mention the creeking continuing every night . But some other night this thing frightened me a lot . I was reading again and suddenly something quite heavy falls on the floor . And this time I did look . It was a mini soft toy tiger I have attached to my closet with soem more things hung to it . That was a bit unexplainable ...
But the thing that hapened a night ago was the best one yet . I went to sleep at 1:30am and I read a chapter and fell asleep imediatly (no creeking that night) . In to morning I wake not sleeping on my pillows for what was on the pillows was a book . My great big book about plants and how to take care of them and how to cure them if needed . Opened . That day I recived a gift - a plant and I had to plant 6 lillies in a garden . But today a part of my plants , as I discovered , were infected by a disease to which I found a cure ... according to the boook I found on my pillow .
Be the ones to judge of my sanity and the reallness of my house`s spirit .

Yikes Ophelia!! I have some weirdness to share I guess, about the haunted room at my parents house. Ok now, how to begin?.... How about the beginning?........ We moved into our new house when I was 11 years old, except it wasn't really a new house so to speak, just new to us. The house in fact was really old. It was a nice house though, plenty of bedrooms, a big backyard, quiet shady streets and a huge maple tree right outside the back door. The tree towered over the house, its sheltering branches seemed to protect it somehow, drawing it under its wings. While my little brothers and I were running around checking out the backyard I noticed a second story window that opened right onto the roof. Branches from the tree covered that part of the house. You could climb right out that window onto the roof; (it wasn't even steep.) And these huge limbs curved this way and that over the back of the house. "So cool"! I ran inside not wanting to get my hopes up, but just praying that the window looking over the back yard wasn't the Master Bedroom. I had first dibs on bedrooms being the oldest, my brothers and I had shared a bedroom at our old house and since there were now four bedrooms we each would get our own. As my luck would have it, it was the smallest room. I can still to this day remember standing in the doorway of that room. The bare window. The smell of the new paint, the emptiness of it. I didn't consciously notice at the time the subtle change of mood it invoked. How it could take an eleven year old's sunlit green joy and instantly transform it into emptiness. I just rememberd feeling uncomfortable somehow, and placed the feelings to nervousness about having a room to myself. Funny, the thought of sleeping alone had never scared me before. That first meeting was interupted by my little brothers tumbling up the stairs after me. My folks were quite suprised when I chose the smallest room, but it had a large closet for storage, and I told them I liked the tree outside the window. Thats where all the weirdness came from, the closet, or the biggest part of it anyway. It somehow seemed like the rest of the room was coping with the effects of having the closet inside it. The room's spirit was like that of a battered woman who had long ago given up any hope of happiness, or a dog that had been beaten too often by a cruel master and will huddle watchful in the corner. In other rooms of the house, when sunlight would come in through the windows it was warm and comforting. When the sunlight would filter through the leaves of the big old tree and splay across that room it just left you feeling sad. What on earth had happened in this room, that the sight of sunlight would make you want to cry? It was on that first day that I found the cross. On the inside of the closet door a handmade cross was hanging. It was hanging on a little nail by a thin strand of red string. The cross was like something that a little kid would make, it had macaroni glued on the front and was painted gold. On the back a name had been scratched into the soft wood with a pencil. Neecie 1957. I put it back, and never disturbed it again. It is still hanging there. I never had a good nights rest in that room, I would sleep of course but would often wake up feeling drained. I wasn't about to let them know I was afraid to sleep in there. I would sleep in my youngest brothers room sometimes. He was just a little kid and afraid of the dark. He wasn't adjusting to having his own room any more than I was. "My own room". It's a hard thing to describe but it often felt like you were facing the wrong direction in there. Like something was always compelling you to turn around. Sometimes I would be jarred awake by someone calling my name. Or the sound of voices so low you couldn't make out what they were saying. After a few months the bad dreams started, I won't relate them here, it is enough to say I have some idea of what happened in that room all those years ago. That cross has been hanging for a very long time. My parents found me in the tree outside my window that summer. It was raining that night. They say I was bawling and shaking and they couldn't wake me up. Sleepwalking they said. Night terrors. My sister came home from college and she wouldn't stay in that room. One night was enough for her. I guess she is more sensitive to those things than some people are. Now years later we talk about it sometimes, it always gives us the shivers. I still can't talk about what happened that night though, what drove me out into the rain. Or about Neecie, about the cross she made at vacation bible school the summer she was killed. That summer so many years before I was born. I try not to think about it at all. Sometimes when I am working in the garden, I will look up at that window. And in that room which has now become an attic, I know in the shadows behind the glass something is wrong.

*finishes to read and stays open mouthed* Talk about a bad aura But it really is quite interesting that you know of what happened through dreams . Mostly it is the way the ghost wishes to tell foreward it`s story . Though sience no one has ever comed back from there I can`t say it is exactly so but I got such impressions after reading . And now let me share in some more thoughts . I think she still lives in her own paralel world in the same room and wishes no one to disturb it . Spirits of little children are usually powerful in their powers and show their anger and other emotions very clearly and shamelessly (as normally little children do) . But the fact that you saw those dreams shows of a good intendion - a warning that you can get only when looking through it all like this . My guess is that there has been no ghostly activity in the house after that . In fact there should be no activity of that sort otside of that room at all . If so , I can tell only of the ghost not being agressive otherwise than when being angered by something . A christian child aswell so as a child she wishes no harm to others and as children use to act when , for example , he is told that he hase to share the room with someone . My advise - if you are christians pray for the soul to find some peace . If not - simply do not use the room , leave the cross where it is and better do not talk of it and do not tell many people of it . Ophelia

Ok, maybe I embellished the story a little. LOL! Ok maybe a lot. Some of it is true though. The room as described is pretty accurate, the physical features that is. There was never any overt supernatural happenings in there though. There is a cross still hanging in the closet just as described, but I never had any dreams about a horrible murder taking place. I made it up to make the story more interesting. LOL! Were you scared? *giggle* The room was and still is creepy though. It is my theory that the cross was made and left there by "Neecie" because when it was her room she felt that creepy feeling too. I am sure she grew up and led a perfectly normal life without anything horrible happening to her at all. And I am sure I would have heard stories if something had happened. It is a very small town. Nothing like a good ghost story is there? Gotcha! LOL!

i have also got a strange story. when i was 10 and i had frist moved into the house where i still live now, my family had a housewarming party and all my family came over. all us kids were all sleeping in the same room and my youngest cousin at the time was about 4. she woke up in the middle of the night freaked out. so me and my older cousins moved her into the bunk beds where the older boys were sleeping to make her feel safe. when she was safely up in the bed she whispered in my ear "behind you". i looked behind me to see this young boy in a sailor suit staring at me and my cousin. he waved to us and then dissapeared into the wall. 2 years later on the same night my dog started to go ballistic barking at nothing. so i went outside to see what it was and the little boy was back but this time he had a dog with him. neither of them were scared of me or my dog and just stood there and the boy was smiling and waving. he seemed familiar to me so i smiled and waved back. he dissapeared and every now and then i see him smiling and waving. one time though he tried to talk to me and i could see his lips moving but couldnt hear what he was saying. what does this mean and why cant my little cousin remember and why did he contact me?

Hmmmmmm .... I must repeat that I can not say things are like that or this 100% because I have never been dead . But if my thoughts are asked then I shall answer as good as possible .
Conclusion : it is a non-harm wishing spirit because it has a strict shape , colours (?) and you didn`t freak when seeing it for the second time (the first time you see a ghost is scary no matter what) .
Considering you little cousin : doesn`t she remember a thing ? Let`s say it is normal . As a little kid she might have had a big shock of seeing the ghost and after a shock you forget things or sometimes subconciousness simply doesn`t want to remember frightening things .
The contacting : little children and animals are very sensetive to all the paranormal and are the ones that usually see them , so that is why it contacted you . Aswell , sience it is a spirit of a child it might have seen a potential friend of some sort in you . That would explain the waving and smiling as to a friend and the apearings .
The ghost is a child in a sailor suit , which is very common for the late 1800`s and early 1900`s . The child is friendly and gives no reason for being scared of it . One of the versions could be that he has died in the house of an illness that had no cure at that ime but that doesn`t explain the dog and the outdoor apearings . Though it does at the same time . For mostly ghosts that just haunt a place after a less tragic death (if death can be called untragic at all) apear at places and do things that they have usually done while alive . But still it doesn`t explain the dog , though it can be just a spirit extra for the dog wasn`t there at the first time when the boy apeared .
That is my explanation for what it is , I just hope it is correct .

Oh, Ophie, you have an explication for anything. The thing with the book and the plants was very interesting. Okay, sometimes in a house, flat, villa or anything strange noises may occur. Mostly it is our imagination... sometimes it's not. I live in an apartment block. So, anytime when my up neighbor walks through his room, and it's night, and the tree leaves are singing, the stray dogs howling I hear him. creek--creek. And every damn time it succeds in scaring me. And another thing... Once upon a time, I've seen in a book a very nice picture... A little girl was sleeping nicely in her room. Night... Open window... In a chair near the bed was resting... her guardian angel. More will follow...

Hmm, modship? I'm not entirely sure I know what you mean. And the whole story? It was just one pic. But, I have a strange fact for ya... It happened to me two times to wake up (in the morning) with my little lamp by the bed lit. I always turn off that damn lamp, so I couldn't have just fallen asleep with it on. I couldn't have litted it in the sleep either, because the lamp is like, half a meter away from my bed on the vertical scale. I mean, a bit above and on the right. I know that everything is possible, even a stupid glitch that could have changed the on/off setting of the button. And, of course, I could have been sleepwalking, but it is very improbable. So, any more suggestions...

Well .... To think racionally , I could have been sleepwalking aswell (the book thing) but if we would always look/see only the racional there would be no paranormal . But aswell - it`s not too good to see the paranormal in the racional . Go figure Btw - Modship = mod (moderator of the Vaults) + -ship (as in membership , friendship etc) . Oph

Okay, first of all, I ask all of Nicole's Kidman fans that haven't seen yet "The Others" to stop reading. This post contains spoilers from the movie. Last night I've seen this movie. Apart from being a great ghost story, I was pleasantly impressed by the idea. The fact that a family of ghost (a mother and 2 kids) were living in their old house and they didn't know they were ghosts. And they thought that the real owners were ghosts. So, I bring forth this new theory: what if the ghosts don't know what they are? What if the ghosts (some of them) don't realize that they're dead and trapped between two worlds? I know, all we have on them are assumptions and theories; we don't really know for sure what they are or even for sure if they exist or not. But, I still find this idea interesting... Don't you?
