I'm afraid I'm a firm believer that people in glass houses should throw stones. First of all, if someone were to throw a stone and destroy their house, I would have to say it's their own darn fault. Unless they were not capable of thinking their actions through. On the other hand, there are safety and privacy issues surrounding glass houses which would lead me to argue that a person may be better off destroying their glass house and moving into another, more practical house. And on that topic, this glass house under water would be extremly unpractical, would there be an air supply? And how would one carry out a normal life when living in an underwater glass house? Surely it would be beneficial to live in another house? And if the house was underwater, can we definatly say that throwing a stone in said house would destroy it? There could be momentum issues in water that we've not thought of. I'll admit that broken glass could be dangerous, but the sensible thing to do would be to wear shoes so as not to step on the glass. The real worry should really be- what would happen if something fell on and smashed the roof when there are people inside? Throwing a stone at a wall wouldn't nessecarily cause the glass to fall on a person, but to throw it at the ceiling would be dangerous, so it may depend on where the stone is thrown. Our culture is partly to blame for the stigma surrounding glass houses and throwing stones. We are told from a young age that breaking things is bad, so we naturally have a curiosity. Who amoung you can say, in all honesty, that they've never felt a slight guilty, or not guilty, pleasure when they've broken a glass? There is something satisfying about hearing the noise of glass shattering, and knowing that you've been the cause of it. It's because we're told this is wrong that makes it enjoyable, in a twisted way. And who's to say that this stone has to be large and heavy enough to shatter a glass house? It would be possible to throw small light weigh stones that would do no damage whatsoever. It is therefor my opinion that it would be good for someone living in a glass house to throw a stone. Not just for personal reasons, but for thier own safety and privacy. How would you feel living somewhere that was see-through? People would be able to see you at all times. Unless you paid out to have curtains put over all the walls etc. But who would waste that amount of money?

It's nice to have the winners and nominees here. Why don't you just mail the people who've won, if they're unlikely to post without some prompting?

Ra ha ha. Am working on some drawings on our costumes, not quite done, but my scanner doesn't seem to be working. My family all get back sometime Monday though, so it ought to be fixed then. Am no good with my scanner. I don't think it likes me. I might do a sketch of my dress too, whenever I decide what that's like... *cheeky glances at Nil before runs off giggling*

Lossie looked around...unsure wither to step down, or to make her own little speech. Nilly elbowed her in the side, moving her into action. She stepped up to the mike, yet again, pondering what to say. She'd already bored quite a few people with speeches and songs, so t'was better to make this one short and sweet, considering there was yet another winner to come.
"Erm...thanks. I've said quite enough already, so I'll show my thanks by not wasting your time. Not that I'm not very very happy to be recieving this award, but...erm...well, there are two others...and I suppose..." There was a sublte cough from Nilly, a kind indication that much rambling was about to ensue. Lossie halted, and finished up. "Thank you all for voting, I'm touched."
'Whoops...' she thought, backing away from the bright stage lights. 'That short and sweet speech was not so short. Or sweet for that matter...' She aimed a smile and shrug at Nilly. 'Ah what can you do?'

Lossie took a last drink from her little bottle. As she stepped to the mike, the music started. She put a hand on the mike to steady herself, as absinthe does not make for very good balance. She pushed her hair out her eyes and began to sing. Yet again. And the song went thusly;
The 14 Days of Hobbit Day Parody of: The 12 Days of Christmas
On the ____ day of Hobbit Day my Hobbit gave to me... - 14 Valar watching - 13 Dwarves a-wand'ring - 12 dozen guests - 11 mithril treasures - 10 Rangers roaming - Eowyn, Nazgul-slaying - 8 Elf-maids singing - 7 Stars and Stones - 6 ships a-sailing - 5 Unnamed Rings! - 4 Hobbits on a Quest - 3 Elven-rings - 2 hairy feet And a seedling of the White Tree!
There were many Imladris members who sang along to this song, possibly aided by the vast supply of drink on offer. Lossie flashed a smile before shouting over them. "Well, I'm glad to see so many fellow members in such a fine mood! It's wonderful to see you all getting into the spirit of things!" One of the members held up a glass of what was most likely vodka, and shouted back- "Indeed we are" Lossie rolled her eyes playfully, and glanced back at nil, before continuing. "Well then, if you'll please find yourselves a place, and we shall begin the next dance!" The music to 'Rock around the Christmas Tree began to play as people jumped out their seats, and fought for space on the dancefloor.

"Well, for starters, I'd like to point out that I am in fact, not the oldest member." A few of the audience members gave sceptical looks. "No, it's true. But I'll accept this award anyway, as I seem to be the eldest here at the party. I hope that it'll make you realise that I am in fact wiser than the lot of you, and can order you all around...Apart from those who could ban me." There was a small ripple of laughter, and Lossie winked as she stepped away from the mike. She gave Nilly a huge hug, and pulled a tiny bottle of absinthe out. "Well, now that's over..." The two grinned and went back to their seats.

Lossie looked up at the sleeping Ophelia. She sighed, supposing that she really ought to let her down. She looked to Nilly, who nodded, knowing, as she often did, what was going through Lossie's mind. Lossie let her head drop before half heartedly turning and pointing her wand back at Ophelia. The tinsel ropes vanished and Ophelia fell a few feet, before Nilly elbowed Lossie. With a roll of her eyes, Lossie slowed Ophelia down, and a group of faeries helped lower her as gentley as possible onto a giant cushion. Ophelia still looked pleasently sleepy, and the halo was perched, slightly squint now, but more or less on her head. [Another side note, Elalia started the Council of Elendili, I don't know what happened to her, but I miss her a little, she was the one of the first people I was friends with online. (Her and AddictedtoRumil, who also disappeared... ) I hope that we can remember her, as it's really down to her we're all here. ]

Lossie eyed everyone around the room. She'd smiled to herself. Perfect time to get her revenge on Opheila for the faerie down her dress. She slowly pulled out a thin sparkley pale green wand Nilly had given her, and lined it alongside her inner arm, out of view. She took aim subtly at Ophelia, and muttered a few carefully chosen words. Ophelia slowly began to rise up in the air off her seat, and at first seemed pleasently unaware of it, being very sleepy after the huge meal. Lossie smiled to herself again, and let her eyes wander the room, with the wand still on Ophelia, as people started to notice that she was in fact, halfway to the ceiling. With a slight movement of her arm, Lossie sent Ophelia to the top of the Christmas tree, another mutter, and ropes of tinsel wound themselves around Ophelia, tying her to the tree like an angel decoration. An angry, baffled, but slightly amused angel decoration.
Nilly was looking susiciously around the room. Naturally, her eyes settled on Lossie, who was watching the scene out the corner of her eye, a slight note of satisfaction across her face, but at first glance appeared to be perfectly innocent.
"Lossie..." Nil said sternly, approaching Lossie's seat.
Lossie glanced at Nilly, flashed a grin, and slipped out her seat. Before Nil could follow, Lossie had stepped carefully up to the stage. She tapped the mike, before leaning forward to speak.
"Hey everyone. I'm glad to see that the meal was greatly enjoyed, but it is indeed time to move on." There were a few worried looks towards Ophelia, still suspended at the top of the tree. A passing faerie had been kind enough to place a tinsel halo on her head. "Oh no, don't worry about that, I'll let her down soon. But for now, we will move on. So, I invite to the stage, our very first Imie Awards presenter, for Member Honours, Oldest (as in first) member, the wonderfully talented, beautiful, Niluial!" Hesitantly at first, people bagen to clap. Lossie shot a grin in Nil's direction, who seemed reasonably impressed with this escape. After all, she had just made Ophelia a human decoration...Nilly stepped up graccefully beside Lossie, who moved out of the spotlight into the wings, as Nilly began. A ripple of excitment went through the members, as they waited in anticipation. Lossie smiled for Nilly in the darkness of the wings.
