I've read stuff like that too, but it's not quiiiiite what I'm getting at. Close, but no cigar, so to speak. But as I don't fully understand if what I'm getting at is in fact true, you'll have to bear with me. I've been researching the idea, and found the following;
"Left-handedness, in general, is more prevalent among twins. Some theorize that left-handed singletons are the survivors of what initially had been twin pregnancies. "
Meaning that they were meant to be mirror twins, but the the other twin for whatever reason died before birth or simply never came into being. I'm actually finding it really difficult to find information on this idea, as most of the info available is about alive mirror twins, and not this possibility of a single mirror twin absent of the other...

Hi guys, I thought this was an appropriate question for our favourite paranormal friends. I read somewhere the other day that people used to believe that those who were left-handed were in fact 'mirror twins', in that they had been destined to have an identical twin, but for some reason did not, and so they used their left hand because of the absense of said twin, and in using their left hand instead of the right were mirroring the absent twin. Now I'm not exactly sure how right that is, but I reckoned that if anyone was to know, it'd one of you. So have you ever heard of anything like this? As a lefty, I find it intriguing.

Well the human brain doesn't actually read all the letters in a word, so technically it doesn't matter how it's spelt, cause we all know what it means. *proud grin that psychology knowledge came in handy*
I don't think I've ever had any experiances like that, sadly. When I was little I used to try to train myself to do it, cause I saw Matilda and was desperate to be able to do stuff like her. But very little of the human brain is actually used, so who knows, maybe it's not a paranormal power, perhaps everyone has the ability for telepathy or telekinesis but just doesn't know how to use it. I personally like to think so, cause I'd absolutly love to be able to do something like that. I don't even have any interesting stories about it.

I've been meaning to come clutter up your nice tidy poetry thread for quite some time now. So here I am. And here are some poems I love-
Solitude Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone. For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own. Sing, and the hills will answer; Sigh, it is lost on the air. The echoes bound to a joyful sound, But shrink from voicing care.
Rejoice, and men will seek you; Grieve, and they turn and go. They want full measure of all your pleasure, But they do not need your woe. Be glad, and your friends are many; Be sad, and you lose them all. There are none to decline your nectared wine, But alone you must drink life's gall.
Feast, and your halls are crowded; Fast, and the world goes by. Succeed and give, and it helps you live, But no man can help you die. There is room in the halls of pleasure For a long and lordly train, But one by one we must all file on Through the narrow ailses of pain.

A Dream Within A Dream Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow— You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if Hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of golden sand— How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep—while I weep! O God! can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave?

Room For Sanity Amy someone...
The clouds gather within my mind, Obscuring my view of the light. I cannot help but try to fight This deep and dark descending night.
I know this room, I've walked this place, A minute's time, a moment's space. As reason runs from me in haste I allow myself a little taste.
It's vaste, heartbreaking, forever sweet - This Hell that causes sense to meet With insatiable and tender heat And cover sanity like a sheet.
It envelops me and now I know What it took you so long to show: The Moon will rise, the wind will blow, And love - forever it shall grow.
I feel a change beneath the floor, Snow-covered hills begin to thaw. The waves slowly return to shore And everything makes sense once more.
~*~*~*~
That's all for now. If anyone's interested in Edgar Allan Poe, read The Pit and the Pendulum it's disturbing, but brilliant.

Wow, i'm so glad you like that so much. I'm definatly in a fantasy type place at the moment, so apart from the first one, they're all fantastical. heh heh. -'Drum Bridge at Meguro' by Hiroshige -'Angel with Lyre' by Kinuko Craft -'The Young Martyr' by Paul Delaroche wow, how cool is that?! Ok, from here it gets a-maz-ing. This and the next one are by Luis Royo. -and this one, also by Luis Royo, and was used in a quiz I did, so if it looks familiar, it's in my journal. I juist love it. There were loads of others I wanted to post, but wasn't sure cause of nudity. Hehe.

Thanks Elbereth! I'm not sure this section will work out, but until that's decided I'll keep posting in my gallery. Today I'm in more of a Renaissance type place in artistic terms, so here goes. The first two are known as studies, some of you will know this no doubt, but artists often made lots of studies before doing a final painting so that thier subjects didn't have to sit still and they could work in their own interpretation without being limited or negativly influenced by sight. The third painting is a small detailed version of a small part of a larger painting. Artisits often do this to provide more detail on a certain aspect of a painting, or to experiment wih technique and style. -' Testa Di Faniciulla' by Leonardo da Vinci -' Studi Per Un Monumento Equestre' by Leonardo da Vinci -'Creation of Adam (Detail)' by Michelangelo Buonarroti -'Madonna and Child' by Bernardino Luini -' The Virgin and Child with St Ann and Joh' by Leonardo da Vinci These ain't Renaissance, but they're pretty. -' Mermaids of the Canary Islands' by Ashkar "Dreams are journeys that take one far from familiar shores, strengthening the heart, empowering the soul."

Ok, after making my room messier than it already was, I have found the lyrics. They crack me up, so...... Here you go:
Smeagolian Rhapsody
Sung to the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Is this the Smeagol, Is this just Gollum here, Trapped in the mountains, No escape from these Goblins here, Listen now hark, Go to the dark and be, I'm just a Smeagol,I need no sympathy, Because the fishes come, fishes go, I'm happy here, down below, Anywhere my ring goes, will not be too far from me, From me.
Bilbo, just stole my ring, Made me play a riddle game, Baggins cheated, curse his name, Precious, you're my only love, But Baggins came and stole you all away, Precious, ooo, Didn't mean to let you slip, If I don't find you by this time tomorrow, I'll search on, I'll search on, As if nothing else will matter.
Too late, the Dark Lord's come, Sends shivers down my spine, Asking questions all the time, Goodbye to my precious, I've got to go, Gotta tell this disembodied eye the truth, Precious, ooo, I didn't want to die, Sometimes I wish I'd never been born at all.
I see a little silhoueto of a Sam, Scour brush, scour brush, got to clean the pots brightly, When he's got ropes he's frightening Seems to enjoy tightening me, Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, nice master- the ring thief's heir, I'm just a Gollum, nobody loves me, He's just a poor boy, from a stoor family, Spare him his ring and just let him go free, Precious come, precious go, will you let me go? No Gollum! No, we will not let you go. Let me go! No Slinker! No, we will not let you go. Let me go! No Stinker! No, we will not let you go. Let me go! Will not let you go! Let me go! Never let you go. Let me go! No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Frodo Baggins let me go, Dark Lord Sauron has a Nazgul set aside for me.
So you thought you could rob me and spit in my eye, So you thought you could use me and leave me to die, Oh, Baggins, can't do this to me Baggins, Just gotta bite out, Just take a bite right out of you, Nothing else can matter, anyone can see, Nothing else can matter, nothing else can matter to me.
Anywhere my ring goes.................
Hahaha! I love that version. There are other ones, but I think that's the best.
