No more than my dog scaring the life, heart and soul out of me. Do you knowwhat it's like having a black dog wander out in front of you when you thought you were the only one upstairs?
Anyway, a little less remotely on topic, I like to think that my bracelet protects me. My mum gave it to me before she died and now I always wear it. It keeps me calm in exams anyway, though that might be just because it's something to fiddle with.

I do belive that my golden crusifix which I wear around my neck keeps me from all the bad . Because it really must be so . It just gives more comfort to have something to belive in , like the comforting of the bracelet And I used to have a black cat who made ghostly noises upstairs and in my room like taping of his feet and you couldn`t see him in the dark , but when he died I ran out of explenation of the continuing of these noises a bit afterwards . Though liting a candle always helps and gives leave to the soul wandering in your house . Well except for the one ghost who doesn`t leave anyways ... ;D And I allmost spat my heart out one morning . I was still half asleep in my bead when two knocks on the window made my eyes pop wide open but there was no one to be seen and my room is on the 2nd floor ... Tyah ... O

The knock on the window... Smt similar happened to me once. I was sleepind on my bed, near the window, which was open. In my sleep I heard smt that for me seemed to be the most terrifying laughter. I woke up, scared, only to discover that a dog was barking outside. I know, it doesn't have any conncection to ghosts/spirits.

But who knows ? Though subconsciousness does weird stuff to the brain and thats another thing I use as an answer when rationality needs to be used and I definetly hate when people turn this against me when I tell something of this , for example , knocking . Darn ...

Ack! Yesterday morning, wandering around after breakfast I heard two knocks coming from the fridge and dad had taken the dog out for a walk meaning the house was completely empty and I never trust this house when it's completely empty. Scared the heck out of me though.
Then this morning I was flouting in and out of this (really weird) dream when I hear two knocks coming from my wardrobe which woke me up and not only is it really annoying because I could have had at least another half hour's sleep but quite unnerving. I know this house is old but why does it keep knocking at me?
Ooh, something I've worked out which happens upstairs, if you walk around in the bedroom then the floorboards out in the hall creak and walking around in the hall makes floorboards in the bedroom creak so it always sounds like someone is following you into or out of the bedroom.
And I have always had a fear of seeing a face in an upstairs window so I never look out the window when I'm drawing the curtains. I suppose it's because you can explain strange noises but you can't explain faces floating twelve feet in the air.

I say you have a polterghaist , though it looks like I`m a bit confuzed about its intendences . I didn`t quite understand - did you see a face in that window , or is it just a fear to see one ? I know I have such fear of looking in the mirror when there is darkness which I can (could) see in it . It`s just something that happens outomaticly for me , with no actual reason . Though it has it`s stories behind the fact . But do pleace clear up my mind Dragon , will you ?

No, I'm just scared of seeing a face in the window, nothing THAT interesting has ever happened to me.

In that case I dare say you have a positive spirit of a poltergheist . A soul , done nothing wrong or not wishing to do harm , traped still on this side of the sun . And all the interesting things will happen , you just have to know they will .. Oph

Dude! Programme on radio about ghosts! I'm liking it.
There's been a headless horseman that this little boy saw in his room (minus the horse) and he showed his mother but it disappeared before she turned to look (she was aprehensive). It turned out there was a tale of a headless horseman who appeared on certain months of the year.
Then there was a story of *shudder* a face at the window. It was the ghost of the man who built the house and he looks in on it when he disapproves of the owners. I didn't hear what happened then, I was typing too loudly, sorry.
Oooh, that reminds me of somewhere that I found loads of ghostly encounter stories, I'll go have a look for it. Some of them were really cool, like these two blokes were on an old roman road and they felt something coming along it and dived into the ditch where they sat and listened to the footsteps of a roman legion marching past. They looked down the road once the footsteps passed and the cause was nowhere in sight (and as we all know, roman roads are straight as arrows!)
O I love ghost stories!

Did I tell you my blind likes to open by itself? It does, but I think it's because the blind is years old and the mechanism is crappy but it doesn't half make me jump! And I woke up early this morning because when it had opened I hadn't been bothered to shut it again and so had the lovely morning sunshine shining directly in my eyes. I went looking for the site, which was just general sightings, but instead found a site devoted entirely to sightings of ghosts on roads. Lots of them are "I saw this human figure step out in front of me and I didn't have time to break and I ran it over but when I got out to check, there was nothing there." Theer a couple of good ones though. one ghost, having been hit by a lorry and been dragged to the side of the road by the distraught driver, disappears while the driver is getting the police, leaving behind his false teeth. There's a ghost with a sense of humour! Anyway, enough of the snippets, here's the address: www.tudor34.freeserve.co.ukEnjoy!

Ohh, I just found out that England has more ghosts per square mile than any other country. Obviously, we English have trouble letting go. Kent, apparently, is one of the more haunted of our counties, which is somewhat, well, random really. Just thought you might like to know

English just seem to love themselves and their life too much to leave ;D But I think Scotish people would have a reason though (the myth of their greed is in fault) I haven`t checked the site yet but I will and I can tell you an adress for a site dedicated for all things unexplainable : www.theexorcist.com (do not be frightened by the title) They have some nice ghost pictures , like , a photo taken at a cemetary in the middle of the night by by some sort of a dark-seeing-ultra-super-duper camera , which reveals a little girl , clad in white , siting on a concrete bench . But when looking by naked eye - there was nought . + it has a lot of ghost stories (true ones) !Go and check it ! Though not at night time for you`ll be scared to move out of the room after that ...
