a. It's really the same thing. If "He" knows what is going to happen, then the choice is premade, and it really doesn't matter anymore. Like... I know this is a bad comparison... the Oracle/Neo scene in Matrix Reloaded. b. "...but it is up to you whether or not to accept that." I think that's a bit of a harsh way of putting it. For example, just because I don't believe in any religion, I don't think that means that I'm thickheaded and stupid not to realize the "one Truth." It's all just another opinion.

:oWow guys , I am impressed only ... Sorry but I didn`t read all the replys for (sooooo sorry but being a mod is veeery difficult ) they are re-e-eally off topic . I recomend you to start posting at the thread for things considering God . And Elbereth , I really do not want to be rude but - you know , I do not think that God thread belongs under the title "The Vaults of the Talamasca" . Nothing personal only Talamasca is what a group of people who study the world of the paranormal and supernatural call themselves . I can remove the thread to "The White Rabbit"section , now that one is for philosophy . And I do belive in not belivinng in supernatural . -OpHeliA-

Ok, I talked it over with my parents and here it is: God chooses who becomes a Christian. It's not like he turns people away. Remember this verse:
Colassians 2:13 "You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ. He forgave all our sins."
See, before you were a Christian, you could do nothing but sin. But once God makes you able to accept him, you can now do other things.
Ephesians 1:5 "He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will."
Ephesians 1:11 "In him we were chosen having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with his will."
But, once we're Christians, it's our choice. We can either let the Holy Spirit control us, or be controlled by sin.
Menelien- No, you are not thick-headed and stupid. You just haven't seen yet.

Ah, my apologies for going off topic Ophelia. I know being a mod is difficult enough without us rule breaking. When you say continue in another thread, do you mean ElberethVarda's thread? Something like "Questions about Christianity?"

Why, thanks. But please, stop... I can't stand that everybody thinks I'm just not there yet. I HAVE been there, I used to be religious. I never will be again. I dislike the ideas in it, almost all... I mean, the principles are all good. Just the way it all is. *shrugs* Right. *prim* Sorry, Ophelia, I just couldn't help replying there. I'll stop. *looks down at shoes* -Menelien

Don't worry about the Christianity thread. I don't think we should further debate this. We really aren't getting anywhere. I don't believe that God chooses who becomes a Christian but that is my belief. I now will not say anymore on this issue. Thank you. *gets off box and picks up FOTR*

I have read this discussion. All of it.... Geesh, and I know, that we are not supposed to post more... But I have the need to ask something.... Please? How is that possible? I mean, think of all the prophets. Not all of them were Christian, but they didn't sin. Also, even though you’re not Christian doesn't mean you sin automatically. All religions and beliefs have some rules of conduct. If the believer follows them, in order of the faith, that person doesn't sin. Of course, everyone sin. But I believe it's wrong to say that if you have other beliefs than Christianity, you sin. I mean, come on. We can't be that narrow-minded! Cheers, Nova

I have to disagree. Everyone sins. But I do agree that Christians sin too. No one is perfect.

Oah guys.... Don`t make this harder for me than it is allready ;D But what the heck - but this needs to be the last post on this topic or I`m making you a thread for discussing this ok ? Well here goes : (it`s ment for the fact that everybody sins) it is said somewhere at the holly books that we all were born with the sin [Adam and Eve`s first sin comes along to us , our children , their children etc.] . Do not bother to answer this too eagerly (no more than 1 post on this (I`m trying to be strict here ;D)) `cause I belive this problem is solved - everyone has he`s own belives and any attempt to convince somebod who`s thinking differently than he will end up in a conflict or even worse - in a debate [joky joke ] . /Ophelia/ :POp

I have to say this is more of a philosophical discussion, being that it is of beliefs and religion. So if you want to continue it, mosey on over to Follow the White Rabbit, and get the topic back to paranormal people! ;D *evilness*
Can't think of anything? weeell, how about this- astral projection, immortality, tarot, fortune telling, anything generally unexplained!! Come on, we've all got imaginations!! Open a new topic if you want, or just add an opinion, but don't clutter. *goes off like a headless chicken, while people throw things*
