What’s up with the Titles?

Yes, you may have realised your personal title disappear or the title you had before has changed. We have decided to make Imladris a bit more formal (still a happy family) but maybe get back to topics and have better posts. Of course in ‘Sand Ford Inn’ and ‘Fun and Games’ and other chatty boards you can still go off topic (a bit) and be silly but we are expecting more from you on other more serious boards! But this doesn’t mean we can’t have fun anymore, it just means we need a bit more concentration and devotion. At the end of each month the admins will talk about the members and who has been really good. That person (or those people) will be awarded with a personal title! To have a personal title means you are honoured and on a different level.

How to get a personal title

It is pretty easy actually. We will be handing out personal titles to members who are fun and uplifting, who don’t only post in ‘Sand Ford Inn’, who help out and other good qualities. We suggest that you post more in Art is a Substitute for Life, Informal Debates, Books, Movies etc but post proper posts that are full and healthy

I won award for Most Informative Poster and to me it is pretty easy to write full posts on the more serious boards. You don’t have to be a Tolkien Boffin or the best speller etc because I am none of those things. So any of you can be informative and that will earn you a PT.

Any comments are welcome, or suggestions! So a little more devotion will get you very far!

Hi. It's Elentari the Second here, replying to a random topic. Do you remember me? Vaguely? Yeah, I know, haven't posted for a long time.

I can't log in for some reason. This could be because I'm not sure I remember my password, or even my user name, and email is not coming through. It keeps getting stuck on message 16 out of 28 - one of the later emails being a 'your password is...' from Imladris. Which sucks.

I also can't register. Which double sucks. I tried registering with a new email address, new user name (obviously - but BDers would still recognize me), and so on. No luck. For some reason I can't register. Then again, gmail is being bloody stupid at the moment so it's not as though I would have been able to get my verification email.

So, with both of the email systems I use stuffed up at the moment, I'm kind of annoyed. I can't even remember what I used to write in my journal now and I wanted to read through it. And I can't. I think it's cool that random people can't read our journals but not so cool that I can't....

The new Imladris is rather cool. I remember being one of the original people here...how it's grown. And I'm not round here much anymore, but lots of not-so-newbies are enjoying themselves. Can't believe such a site came into being just because of one little thread, started so long ago in the BDs. Remember how Sharku closed us down? We were so annoyed at him...and our next home was horrible because of all the pop-ups. Thanks to Elentari the Insane, we have this lovely thing.

Congratulations Elentari, Lossentilien (who started our first home outside of BDs) and...was it Elanor who started the thread in the first place? I can't remember...

Sorry, I'm just feeling a little nostalgic at the wrong time...and most probably in the wrong place.

Though this wouldn't happen if I could log in and get to the journals. Arrgh!!!

Accounts should automatically be approved. You're on the members list, so an email should have been sent to you. Are you sure you got your email address correct?

Well, I typed in the correct email, and I also activated my account, and then a message came up saying that I was awaiting approval from the admin.

To disable the admin approval step, go into the "Customize Your Forum" section of the admin area, and click on the "General Settings" tab. This should take you to the page that has the board name and forum preferences. There is a question that asks,

Limited Registration: NoYes Enabling this option will make it so all new accounts must be approved by a staff member before their account becomes active.

This setting must be placed at no in order for accounts to be automatically approved.

;D Or, you can look at the tab that says "Veiw pending accounts" and that will allow you to approve already pending accounts. (AKA, mine.)

Hmmm... That setting wasn't on before the update, but its most likely the update has changed things. I will check for you right away

I see that! Yeah, the shift from PBv3 to PBv4 changed a lot of things. Even, they have added some things since the update, including the ability to disable people making accounts at all... anyway. Thanks.
