My brother says that Wood looked way too young to play Frodo. I don't think he was because Frodo was "well preserved" just like Bilbo because of the Ring. The book says at that fifty years of age he looked like a lad just out of his tweens. So what is your opinion?

Well, Wood looks more like a little kid-hobbit than a tween. He should have looked about thirty... But I saw the film before reading the books *ducks flying garden decorations & squeaky things* so I thought he was great (I WAS Frodo obsessed... But I recovered, and now prefer Merry, Pippin, Faramir, Aragorn... I even prefer Legolas (lord help us all!) )

Kid-hobbit? I didn't think he looked that young. I agree he was on the young side to play Frodo but I didn't think it was all that bad. I rather liked the young, innocent look Wood had as Frodo in FOTR. It was a good thing, I think, because in ROTK we're going to see him looking so much older and very weary. Him looking being so young looking in FOTR is going to make the change so much more drastic.

I think that Wood was far too young compared to the others. I am aware of the fact that Pippin and Merry are supposed to be, but it was just weird. I even got the feeling that Pippin could have been Frodo's dad! And that's almost sick. To be honest, I think it was Woods' eyes. (Yes, I am a weirdo.. ) His eyes resemble the eyes of a little child. They are big, shiny and very... very... I don't know. I just think the eyes make him far too young for the character Frodo.. Just an opinion though, from weird little me.. Nova

I agree that Frodo looked young, but I think he could have been well-preserved. You can't always tell someone's age by looking at them. And his acting ability more than made up for his youthful appearence. I think he did a great job of being Frodo.

Hell, I thought he was pretty lofty. Actually, I'm not sure. I think he did an overall good job, save his accent. (sorry, it bugs me though.) I don't particularly mind that he was as young as he is. Now that it comes to it, thinking of the alternatives...I think he was cast fairly...in other words..he wasn't 'woefully miscast' in my opinion...yeah.

Lofty? Maybe, but how should Frodo act? He had a huge responsiblity as the Ring bearer. He lived at Bag End a much sought after residence, and was related to a very famous Hobbit. He was respected by Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandalf among others. Lofty to me seems to be in character.

Oah man ! How can you not know "lofty" in the Imladris meaning ? Oah well ... But Frodo was suposed to look younger and more pretty than the others for it says in the books that he had something of elvish in his looks . And we all know what the Elves look like opheLia
