We have heard the the Silmarillion is a hard book to read and can be confusing. Also that it takes more than one time to truly grasp it. How many times did it take you to read it to truly understand it?
I'll admit, it took me twice. I think this is because the first ever Tolkien book I've read was the Silm. after reading the Trilogy and UT, and referring back to the Silm, I decided to pick it up and read it again and see if things cleared up any more. They truly did! I can read it and have such a clear prospective while reading it, I sometimes surprise myself that it ever confused me in the first place. Has this happened to any of you guys?

It took me two readings to fully grasp it and remember who was who. I mean, even the names can trip you up. There are so many and a lot of them are very similar. But it's an awesome book and a must for every Tolkien fan!

And by the way, it is Silmarillion. Not Silmarillian.

Whoops. My mistake, sorry.
I started reading the Silmarillion, but gave up.

I started reading it, and came about halfways, when I decided to put it down. After this I tried again, but did the same as first time. (Read halfways...) Then the third time, I read it. And I figured that it's the best Tolkien book ever. [glow=red,2,300] [/glow] Heh.. *Nova*

I CAN'T FIND THE DAMNED BOOK! The only peson who knows where it is is my sister and she's away in China.
Oh well, I got the UT for Christmas, I'll have to settle with that. Not that I opened my present before Christmas...

It took me once, really, now that I think about it. I made myself read a chapter a day, even if I didn't really want to.

I am currently reading it and I was thinking about stopping but after I read chapter 19 it was a bit easier. I'm planning to read it again after because some of the book went over my head. Could some one summerize the book?

My parents gave me a copy of The Silmarillion late on Christmas Eve (10.10 pm) and I finished reading it the next morning (8.30 am). I was 13 at the time and just so hungry for more JRRT, as I had read The Hobbit and LOTR. For me, The Silmarillion was and is, a simple engaging tale that gives structure and understanding to the myths of Middle Earth. Yes, you can deconstruct it but its much easier to be swept up by it and to enjoy the experience. So, I guess the answer to your question is 1.

In my opinion the photographer is very important to find a fine connection between the client, whether it be wedding photography or a separate photo shoot, which will unite them throughout the work. Just like not only did I receive phone calls regarding , but also get email notifications updating me of the status of my parcel all the way through it's final delivery at my front door.Excellent service!come here top designer handbagsright now!
