That depends on how much of it you watch. Television has been known to sap the imaginations of youngsters. However, movies are very enjoyable to watch. As with everything, moderation is the key. Watch too much of it it becomes a negative role. Watch a moderate amount and it becomes positive.
And lets not forget the moderation is relative.

It also depends what you watch. Watching Teletubbies non-stop is bound to have negative side effects.
