The Jewels of Valinor
Prologue: The jewels of Valinor wield utter knowledge, wisdom, and above all power. They are named, Vilya, which means air, Narya, fire, and Nenya, water. The four corners of the universe had been fighting over them for millennia. Only the three immortal Lords of Valinor, or their descendants may wield and use them to their will. If these jewels fall on the wrongs hands, chaos will strike no matter what.
Lord Ellesar Telcontar, the great king of the planet Arius, crafted the jewel Vilya. (Ellesar’s jewel was the greatest of the three) He used it to defend his people and to serve Illuvitar, a greater power in the heavens. He invented air and space ships that could travel from one galaxy to another. An age ago, Ellesar was able to save the people of the Old Earth from the destruction of a sun in the solar system in which they were living in. Now the people of Earth live in a hospitable elliptical galaxy, not far away. It was named Valinor, after his beloved warhorse. Ellesar’s horse was a special, chestnut colored steed, often sought after by other kings of the realm.
Ellesar’s brother, King Cuivinien Haldirion, who ruled the cold planet of Isen, fashioned the fire jewel, Narya. This jewel served well in his land because it provided warmth and protection for his people. When the people of Earth were finally settled in Valinor, Cuivinien helped them in protection by inventing new weapons: Protonic Canons (These were used for long-range attacks and wars), and Radien-blades (This sort of sword is used for hand-to-hand combat, it may look like a normal blade but it has laser edges that can cut limb-from-limb in seconds). This came as no surprise because he was a master of war.
The last jewel was made for their sister, Queen Luthien Tinuviel. She was the younger of the two and the fairest of her people. Luthien also ruled the small but peaceful planet, White Haven. She was wise and advised her brothers in time of need. For her profound counsel, they gave to her the white jewel, Nenya and crafted it into a pendant so the light would always glow. Luthien named the three jewels, Ainulindale, or ‘The three songs of Valinor’… These three planets revolved around a star, that she named, Galad, which means ‘great light’
But despite all this, a new evil grew. The Dark Lord Morgrim had come to take the Aiunir (short for Ainulindale). Morgrim’s lust for power was so great, that he challenged the two kings of Valinor into war. If he won, he would rule everything and take Queen Tinuviel as his bride. This new nemesis lived in a dark nebula, which he controlled, not far from the three planets. And much like the three lords, he was immortal and free from any ailment (Know that these immortal Lords can only be slain in battle or die of a broken heart).
King Ellesar and Lord Cuivinien chose to fight. For 7 long years, a war of three armies fought endlessly until one lord, king Ellesar was slain by the hands of the Dark Lord himself, and also took the jewel, Vilya, taking his life and power away. Grieved by his brother’s death, Cuivinien wept with a deep sadness that echoed throughout the battlefield, which was drenched in blood. He fought Morgrim as hard as he could but was defeated. But instead of killing him, the Dark Lord swore an oath to spare his life and all that was dear to him on one condition. He would serve him in anything that he asks, that included being general in his new-formed army, and that he would let him wed Luthien. Cuivinien, breathing hard and fighting tears, agreed but wept.
Soon the Dark Lord had conquered Valinor. The people’s hope faded. Surely no one could hinder the evil that had now corrupted the land. Surely. Hope may have faded in the eyes of men, but not in their hearts…Time passed, and as it did, reality became legend, and legend became myth. For 2,000 years the story of the Three Jewels, something that shouldn’t have been forgotten, was lost.
