Helkahothion
Helka looked down as he was serving at the tabel. He heard a soft voice coming from under the table. As he looked down, he was glad to see another old army buddy of him. While he happely exclaimed her name, he pulled her from under the table. Anuion beackoned Anuion to get her stuff back in the bag. It had been a while ago since Helka and Mordariël had seen any of the soldiers that fought in their battalion. He pulled the poor Menelien to the bar and gave her a tankard of Ale.
"On the house." Helka said smiling.
Menelien felt right at home. Mordariël noted her presence and every free moment, she talked with her. The two girls where a lot a like. Both did not take anything from the males, and very independent. And they both where warriors by choice.
As the hour was growing late, most of the visitors went to bed. Helkahothion and Mordariël guided them to their rooms. The Inn laughed one more time when Mordariël bumped her head to the doorpost in the low Hobbit room and cursed loudly. When only the friends where left, Bordarigorn's companion was also there. They where talking at a table far from the others. With a romantic candle burning. Bordarigorn had gone from tea to ale. Anuion's heart was filled with joy to see his friend in love again.

"Old war buddies?" Qynne asked Bordarigorn as she gestured to the newcomer and Mordariel. Bordarigorn nodded and took a sip of his ale. The two women were talking fondly, as if remembering old times long past. Qynne returned her gaze to Bordarigorn, and then looked to the candle that was in the center of their table. It flickered slightly in the night, casting moving shadows on Bordarigorn's face and the wall behind him.
"Do you know how to use any weapon?" Bordarigorn asked as his gaze wandered over behind Qynne to a bow and quiver that was nestled by the door of the Bright Sun Inn.
"Not at all. When I traveled with my two friends, they took care of the sword fighting and dagger throwing. I'd love to learn, but my friends and I got into so many close scrapes and trouble that there was hardly enough time. Once my friends..." Qynne paused, searching for the right word. "once they vanished, I mostly had to travel during the day or run during the night. Avoiding what was chasing me."
"Chasing you?" mused Bordarigorn, perhaps surprised or perplexed that her friends weren't dead and that something was...well, following Qynne. The girl nodded.
"The thing that has my friends. But I'd rather not talk about it...not at night. Even its name has power in it. Just saying it would put not only me in danger, but the whole inn, I reckon. Anyways, I was so relieved to finally reach this Inn. I couldn't have possibly tried to reach the next one, because night was coming and the thing that was following me, and I was exhausted anyway. I was so happy to finally find someplace to stay for a while, even if its name was rather strange. I'm also glad I was finally able to talk to someone, for I hadn't since my friends were taken." Qynne explained, no longer able to keep a secret from Bordarigorn.
"Perhaps I could teach you to use some sort of weapon, at least without hurting yourself," Bordarigorn suggested, and Qynne smiled and nodded agreement.
"That would be wonderful. I don't think It sleeps," said Qynne gratefully. Qynne stifled a yawn, because the girl knew that she would not be able to sleep. She couldn't possibly even leave the inn...not for at least a few days. Qynne had made false tracks so the creature following her would falter and take time to find her.

Hiri pushed open the doors of the large inn and looked around. Very nice. Helky had outdone himself. But where was he? Hiri looked around the room eagerly...

Helkahothion
Helkahothion was busy cleaning the tables as Hiri stepped into the Inn. She looked around eagerly and walked it with gracefull steps. She hung her coat to the crowded rack. She was surprised by the business the elf had done on the first day. Anuion knew his business, that was for sure. Helkahothion did not look up from the tabel He was busy trying to get a stain out of the table. A hobbit kept nagging about it so he was rubbing his fingers off. Hiri saw a man in the corner with a woman. The man looked in love. The woman she was not sure of. As she strolled over, she saw they both had knifes out and the man was showing swipes with the wrist. She walked over to Helkahothion but tripped over a drunken hobbit that was left on the ground. The hobbit looked up and saw that all his friends were already upstairs. He stood up and walked to the stairs. Bordarigorn had been sitting back so he could explain arms with the knife better to Qynne and was in the way of the hobbit.
"Piss of you big bully." The hobbit said to the big man.
Bordarigorn moved back. The hobbit walked slowly on purpose to irritate Bordarigorn. The big man stood up and growled. As soon as two seconds the hobbit was upstairs. Bordarigorn went back to Qynne. He had offered her to learn some combatskills so she could defend herself. Helkahothion laughed out hard over the running hobbit. He turned to the spot once more. Hiri felt ignored and went over to Helka. With a hard blow she knocked his head against the table.
"So, are you collecting all your friends of war in this Inn or something Helka? I mean, Menelien, me, Bordarigorn, Anuion Mordariël. This is becoming a wonderfull reunion indeed. Oh look, Aranel is here too. This is proven to be a blessed inn indeed. Any robber to come here now will be sadly surprised hahahaha. Well, without us to. You can manage more than enough."
Helka laughed and hugged Hiri. It had been a while since he had seen her. He let go and imidiatly punched her in the face.
"You could have seen that one coming."
They both laughed and acompanied Mordariël and Menelien by the bar.
"Oh BTW Hiri, I know you can write. I was just kidding back then." Helka said, obviously talking about something no one knew of but the both of them.

Qynne liked learning with a dagger. It looked a lot easier than using the broadswords her friends had used or a sword Qynne had seen set by the bar in its sheath. The swords looked so bloody heavy! Qynne wasn't sure if she would ever be able to hold one, unless it was lighter than it looked, since it looked to weigh about fifty pounds to Qynne.
Bordarigorn showed her how to use the dagger with ease, and he was a great teacher for daggers. Although by the middle of the night she had many cuts from the lessons, Qynne was confident in her ability to use the daggers well. Bordarigorn seemed willing to stay up late to teach Qynne, for which the girl was grateful. By the middle of the night when Helkahothion had finished closing up for the night, the two young humans were still laughing at every mistake Qynne made or every joke Bordarigorn made.
"Alright, now this time you have to try and swipe-cut from left to right, got it? And don't cut yourself! Or me, for that matter," Bordarigorn instructed, and Qynne tried the motion that the man had demonstrated. A slight whistle sounded in the air as the knife cut through it, and Qynne had successfully swipe-cut from left to right without hurting herself.
"I did it! Praise Eru I used a dagger without killing myself!" Qynne cheered and Bordarigorn laughed. "My friends would have been so proud, not to mention shocked!"
At this Qynne quieted a little, remembering her friends. Bordarigorn changed the subject quickly, however, and smiled as he noticed that the only light in the ground floor of the inn was the candle at their table, shining brightly. Qynne yawned.
"It's getting late," Qynne said between yawns. "Isn't it?"
"I suppose. Are you tired?" asked Bordarigorn.
"Not at all!" exclaimed Qynne, twirling her dagger in her hand as Bordarigorn had taught her. "But if you are, I suppose I'll see you tomorrow. I don't think I can sleep. I have to keep a watch for it. If you're tired you can go to bed."

Helkahothion
"Tired? Me? Get out of here. Hey, if there is some beast hunting for a beautifull creature like you, I'm not gonna sleep till you do. And he will have to get passed my spear if he wants to get to you."
"Flatering won't get you anywhere" Qynne said smiling.
"Violence always seemed to help me a lot." Bordarigorn replied with a wink.
The two looked at eachother for a while in the dimming candlelight. Anuion, Helkahothion, Mordariël and all the others were off to bed. The candlelight seemed to have it's effect on the big man and he leaned forward a little. Qynne didn't move and for a second they stared at each other. Bordarigorn could not resist it any longer.
"If you won't start kissing I will."

Qynne smiled, and when Bordarigorn moved to kiss her she didn't move away. But the moment was cut short as the candle that lit their table suddenly fell over the edge of the table and went out, spilling hot candlewax over the table and enveloping the bottom floor of the Bright Sun in total darkness. Bordarigorn and Qynne cursed in unison and both began looking for the candle in the darkness so they could clean up. Qynne fell backwards off her bench and Bordarigorn nearly tripped over another chair as he looked for the candle.
"Ouch! That was my foot!" exclaimed Bordarigorn when Qynne finally stood up and accidentally stepped on Bordarigorn's foot.
"Sorry. Where are you now?" Qynne asked, walking in the opposite direction towards another table. When she reached the other table, she fell backwards in surprise.
"Over here!" answered Bordarigorn, who almost burnt his hand when he had finally found the candle that had fallen over.
"Well, come over here! We need to find more candles! If we don't hurry it could come while we're here stuck in the dark!" At this order from Qynne, Bordarigorn crawled over to where he had heard Qynne's voice, the candle and candle holder in his hand.
"Right. Now...do you know where the extra candles are?" Qynne asked, and Bordarigorn nodded. He led her to the bar and they crawled behind it so that they wouldn't run into anything. Then he and Qynne began to pull boxes from behind the bar, looking for the one that contained the candles and the two rocks that would make a spark to light them. Qynne found it first, pulling two candles and the rocks from the box she had pulled. Qynne handed to rocks to Bordarigorn and held the candles in her hands. Bordarigorn struck the rocks together, creating a spark that lit one of the candles. Then Qynne lit the other candle with the light from the first.
"There...wasn't that hard, was it?" said Qynne once both candles were lit.

Neither is this. No candle is stopping me now."
Bordarigorn grabbed Qynne by the hip and their lips met. In a wave of love the were pinned to the ground and the moment seemd to be frozen forever inside the kiss.

The evening passed almost too quickly; night fell upon the Inn like a dark shroud. Helka and Mordariel directed the guests to their rooms, and only Bordarigorn and Qynne remained downstairs. Aranel, walking up the stairs with Anuion, glanced at him lightly.
"You were gone for a long time. Didn't meet anyone interesting, did you?" Her tone made Anuion pause for a moment before continuing upstairs.
"Why sound so concerned?" he asked.
"Because," she said bluntly. They were in the upstairs hallway now. Anuion had an odd look in his eyes; Aranel couldn't tell if she liked it, or was unnerved by it. "Anuion... you remember what happened before, right?"
"Remind me."
This was getting uncomfortable. "You couldn't ride a horse for a week afterwards. Remember that?"
He winced involuntarily. "Oh, that."
"Right. So watch it pal, or Eru help me I'll do it again." She smirked. "Good night, then," she said; she kissed him in a noncommital sort of way, then swept off to her room, shuting (and locking) the door behind her.

"heh. I'm glad you finally admitted it..." laughed Hiri, continuing the conversation that Helky had struck up. "Anyway, like I said before, nice inn. I'd like to see see someone try to attack the place." Grinning wickedly, she fingered the quarterstaff that served as a walking stick. "Now that would be fun..." Helky chuckled. Pulling out a chair, Hiri sat down propping her staff on the edge of the table, and draping her forest green cloak on the chair back. Helky sat down as well.
"It's a bad sight you traded your sword for a walking stick. But on the other hand, you are doing a lot less damage to me with it."
"Oh shut up. I rather prefer this, gives people less of a shock. And I can still do plenty of damage... Would you like a demonstration?" Smiling sweetly, Hiri reached towards the staff.
Helka took out his dagger in a second and held the blade on the hand that was reaching for the staff. "I prefer you leave it where it is. Blades are still faster."
Smirking, Hiri withdrew her hand. "You're just afraid of me." Looking outraged, Helky opened his mouth. "But lets not start that again. What's to drink around here? But nothing too strong, I would like to be able to sleep tonight."
"The stronger it is, the better you sleep. Of course I am afraid of you. The only woman that outmatched you is Mordariel. What do you expect of me? Anyway, ale fine I think?" Helky stood and went behind the bar.
Hiri stretched her long legs under the table. "Yea, ale sounds good. Eru, its been a while since I sat in a proper chair." Looking over at Helky, she said, "So, tell me how life has been."

"Life has been it's normal selve like it has always been. Full of it's comings and going and not very aware of me. For which I am very thankfull."
Hiri frowned. For some reason she had heared this before. But she could not recall why. Helka came back and slapped the two pot's of ale on the bar. WIth the pound, the candle in the back of the Inn went out. Helka's elven ears heard the two humans scuffling about to find some candles. Soon there was light. Helka went for a candle and found Bordarigorn and Qynne kissing. He took a candle for himself without being noticed and lit it with Bordarigorn's candle. He went back to Hiri who was sitting impatient in the dark.
"Hey not my fault. Don't give me that look Hiri."
Hiri relaxed once more and talked with Helka during the night.
Upstairs Anuion was trying to pick Aranel's lock. He almost had it when the door swung open. Anuion fell inside and got kicked right back.
"Anuion son of Giliël, you should know better than that."
Anuion got up and looked her straight in the face. Aranel got kinda jumpy and insecure. Anuion saw the hesitation in her eyes and took advantage. He grabbed her by the wrist and kissed her full on the mouth. Aranel kicked and went straight for the nut's, but Anuion had expected this from the last time and grabbed her leg. He let go of her and went to his own room laughing.

Aranel slammed the door as Anuion strode out laughing. Still the same arrogant elf that he'd always been. She didn't know how she could stand him. Okay, so he had a good sense of humor, but still.....
She put out the lamp and dropped into bed. She could still hear Anuion laughing; scowling at the darkness, Aranel wished that she could chuck that boy into the Sundering Seas. No, never mind, Helka would kill her if she did that. And she'd survived too many battles to get killed for dropping Anuion into the ocean.
Once she was sure Anuion wouldn't be coming back, she let herself start to dream. But she still kept half a mind on the door.

Menelien walked back downstairs, having not been able to sleep at all. She caught snatches of comversation as she walked around the inn, and headed towards a table. On her way, she heard a bit of Helka’s voice, and paused to listen for a moment: "...of course I am afraid of you. The only woman that outmatched you is Mordariel," he was saying to another woman, whose face she could not see from that angle. She laughed, tapped him on the head with her staff rather harder than usual, and went on to an empty table, pulling aside the chair and arranging her cloak comfortably around her, still grinning at Helka’s sudden indignant look.

Helka skipped trough a dictionary trying to find the word that is describing his look, but decides otherwise. He throws the book away and smashed Menelien trough her chair. He got up and gave the elven girl another chair. Menelien was dazzled by the blow and sat quit in her chair for a moment. Hiri and Helka were laughing at her face. Menelien got to her sences and tried to smash Hiri trough her chair. But the girl blocked the strike with her staff.
On the other side of the Inn, Qynne and Bordarigorn, were still ehm, well, "talking". They used mouth and tongue anyway. Anuion was still in his room, but he was planning a refenge on Aranel. He filled a bucket of water and placed it on the edge of her door. If she would try to sneak to his room, she would be awkwardly surprised.

Menelien fell off her chair again, dazed. "I should have known not to do that, Helka," she half-laughed. "I've been away too long. I'd forgotten your... ahem, style of retaliation," she said, rubbing her head with the tips of her fingers, careful not to push too hard at the bruise already forming, hey eyes slightly unfocused.
"And I had thought you might have lost some of your old strength by now!" As he reached out a hand to help her up, she shook her head vehemently, or tried to. "No, no, no... I won't fall for *that* trick again... you need to be more original," she said, remembering the multiple times she had ended up on the floor, having reached up after a helping hand. "I'd rather sit on the floor. At least here there's nowhere to fall to."
