I looked around at all the changes and felt my heart sink. Too long have I been away. Too darned hard to catch up with everything that has happened. Too lazy to try.  But since I cannot find, at least on the surface of the bewildering maze of threads so like the Barrowdowns, a thread mentioning one of the best movies I have ever seen (not counting FOTR, TTT, or the as yet unseen ROTK), I am opening one now so I can chatter about it with my old friends. First of: Very good cast. ;D Second: Why has my horrible city not yet got the video of it in yet!??! I'm going crazy........well, more crazy than usual, that it. Third: I don't like writing in this fashion and furthermore have no idea why I'm doing it, so I may edit this message later on..... And does anyone actually read my journal? Off to visit my fanfics which I've been so deprived of recently. Definitely obsessed, no? Love to you all, ~ Elentari II |

Shouldn't this be in the movie section? Pirates is a damn good film. Even if Johnny Depp does steal the show, I ain't exactly one to complain. I reckon the stuff I found really amazing was when Sparrow and Barbosa are fighting, but you get flashes of them a skeletons when they're hit by the moonlight. Imagine how much skill and work went into that little scene... Plus you've got one of the snappiest scripts there've been in quite a while, brilliant one liners... And that's no easy tihng to do with pirate movies. I think this was the first one in either aaages, or ever, which was actually sucessful. Although I suppose the cast and the fact that it was obviously not taking itself too seriously were big factors. Great piece of entertainment. It's on my xmas list...  |

I enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean very much, I laughed all the way through and it is defiantly on my good movie list. I enjoyed all the characters and thought they all played their parts well. I also enjoyed the gory bits XD! Its also on my xmas list  ~Nilly |

It's on my birthday list (Dec 14th), and I'm buying it myself. *looks around* Never mind. I mean that I shall buy it asap, pay myself back - I have a complicated pocket money system and I'm borrowing from myself at present - and watch it on the 13th to celebrate my 14th. Which reminds me. I ought to ring up the Warehouse and see if they've got it in yet.... Depp has a lot of good one-liners and is not ugly.  Bloom is funny and sweet and is not ugly (understatement of the year). And Knightley's a good actress and all. I do love that bit on the island...... Yeah, this should be in Movies and now is. Imladris is getting too big for my liking.....it's still an awesome site, perhaps even better, but I just liked it small. Love, ~ Elentari II |

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Jack Davenport had a role (and quite a large role) in it. And then there was the guy from "The Office" and someone else I recognised from... somewhere. It's almost as if the BBC was providing half the cast.
You can keep your Johnny Depps and Orlando Blooms; Jack Davenport is the one for me!

I can't buy the movie until about June. Considering I wanted to watch it tomorrow, that's really annoying.
It's coming out for the video hire shops around February or March, and Kem says it will be a few months before I can buy it.
*continues trashing the non-existent room*
Actually, what we did today was tidy a room that hasn't been tidied since it was built. Looks really different....

I know. I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean they can't have got it for themselves by now, I was misled by someone who mentioned watching their own copy of it again and again.
But I knew of the date that it came out. A lot of the fanfic writers kept on mentioning it..... *broods about the unfairness of things*
The only thing NZ really got was LOTR...

Oh well. I watched 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' on Saturday, which was okay.
And 'Bend it Like Beckham' on Sunday, which was much better.
Not that this pertains to the discussion at all.
But since I'm way off-topic anyway, I'm now 14.

Yes. Very deep down, and hidden behind closed doors. I could consider Norrington handsome, but Jack ages a hell of a lot better than he does. Anyway, I'm off to read my POTC fanfics. There's a couple of Norrington ones, you know. I've seen them.
