This may sound like a dumb debate but it makes one think of reasons. My students love this debate it really makes you think!

I believe that it is better to plant a cabbage than a rose because cabbages have a use other than to look and smell nice.
Cabbages can be eaten (surprisingly enough) whereas a roses have next to no nutritional value and even pose a heath risk with their thorns (not to mention an annoyingly good hiding place for dogs that don't like baths).
All in all I prefer cabbages over Rroses as a plant.

I would prefer roses, but in terms of planting, I would say cabbages...
Cabbages can be eaten, as you all should know, and could also be sold to earn money to buy other things...
If you had to plant things, and it was the only thing you could plant, to live, and you were given no other food, and you could chose either to plant roses or cabbages, the choice is cabbages. You couldn't survive off of roses if that were to be the only thing you could plant...

well... actually... if you were to go in todays day and age.. growing roses would be better... a dozen roses costs what? 50 dollars? you could grow roses, and use them... get people to buy them... guys buy roses for a certain special somone in their lives...
I would pick roses... yup... okay... that was probably stupid... but Im very tired...

SURPSRISE! We can eat ROSES as well. Yes, it can be indeed a risk to eat them. But only if you are stupid enough to eat thorns. Joking, I know what you mean. Nova
