Hello and welcome to my gallery. I was in the mood for this, and as it's pretty much dead (-get the title now? Huh? ) I thought I post here. So, here's a few things that are currently amazing me. I'm getting the images from www.allposters.com cause they have just about everything. These are by John William Waterhouse, who was born in 1849, Rome, Italy. Died Febr 10 1917, and was a British artist.- -'Circe Invidiosa' -'Crystal Ball' -'Mermaid' -'Ophelia' *nudges Ophelia unslyly* That's all I want to post for Waterhouse...I shall be back with more in a min...

Okie doke, am back, and have decided to show you some examples of Romanticism in art. Here we go. -'Venice' by Turner -'Fighting Temeraire' by Turner -'Lavinia' by Thomas Gainsborough. -'Judging Adam' by William Blake -'Horses in a Storm' by Sawrey Gilpin -'Fighting Horses' by Theodore Gericault That ought to do for Romanticism... I was just about to stop there, but there are a few more things I'd like to post...(apologies for the nudity Blame the artists) The following is jknown as Pre-Raphaelite, John William Waterhouse belongs in here too. -'Girl defending herself against love' by Adolphe-William Bouguereau -'Weary Moon' by Edward Robert Hughes -'Ophelia' by Arthur Hughes *nudges Ophelia again* -' Bella Dame Sans Merci' by Sir Frank Dicksee -'Night with Her Train of Stars' by Edward Robert Hughes -'Cupidon' by Adolphe-William Bouguereau. There's more to this, but the girl's completly naked, so I wasn't sure wither I should post the whole thing... -'Vanity' by Frank Cadogan Cowper And I guess that should do it...for today. *cough cough* Not like i got carried away or anything.

Thanks Elbereth! I'm not sure this section will work out, but until that's decided I'll keep posting in my gallery. Today I'm in more of a Renaissance type place in artistic terms, so here goes. The first two are known as studies, some of you will know this no doubt, but artists often made lots of studies before doing a final painting so that thier subjects didn't have to sit still and they could work in their own interpretation without being limited or negativly influenced by sight. The third painting is a small detailed version of a small part of a larger painting. Artisits often do this to provide more detail on a certain aspect of a painting, or to experiment wih technique and style. -' Testa Di Faniciulla' by Leonardo da Vinci -' Studi Per Un Monumento Equestre' by Leonardo da Vinci -'Creation of Adam (Detail)' by Michelangelo Buonarroti -'Madonna and Child' by Bernardino Luini -' The Virgin and Child with St Ann and Joh' by Leonardo da Vinci These ain't Renaissance, but they're pretty. -' Mermaids of the Canary Islands' by Ashkar "Dreams are journeys that take one far from familiar shores, strengthening the heart, empowering the soul."

Wow, i'm so glad you like that so much. I'm definatly in a fantasy type place at the moment, so apart from the first one, they're all fantastical. heh heh. -'Drum Bridge at Meguro' by Hiroshige -'Angel with Lyre' by Kinuko Craft -'The Young Martyr' by Paul Delaroche wow, how cool is that?! Ok, from here it gets a-maz-ing. This and the next one are by Luis Royo. -and this one, also by Luis Royo, and was used in a quiz I did, so if it looks familiar, it's in my journal. I juist love it. There were loads of others I wanted to post, but wasn't sure cause of nudity. Hehe.

Those fantasy ones are amazing. I want to know the story behind them all.
I especially love that last woman's fingernails. Ooh, sharp and pointy...

Whoo, tough question...a lot of them are from www.allposters.com cause there's tonnes of stuff there, but the Luis Royo one's could be from a fan site. If there are any in particular you want to see, good ol' right click and properties'll do ya. ;D
