Lament of Lady UndomielUnder white birches in father’s gardens we met
And the moment I saw him my doom was appointed
In the fair glade of Lothlorien
My love for him I pledged
To forsake the shadow we did
But twilight I also did
And instead of going with my people
I remained here on Middle-Earth
When shadow was gone
And there was great mirth
There was a great sadness in the air
For I chose to stay behind
And leave my father whom I loved
And our parting was full of grief for I would never meet him
Even under fading leaf
And then he laid himself to rest one day
But he would never again wake
And his last word to me was farewell
And farewell it was and I cried Estel
And goodbye I said to daughter and son
And left the great stone city
And the ones I loved
Never to be seen again by any mortal men
Cold and grey were my eyes
Elven light was gone from them
And finally I understood the tale of men
And now amid the grief I pitied them
I traveled to Lothlorien
But Galadriel had passed away,
Celeborn was gone
The land was silent and empty
And Mallorn-leaves were falling
Spring was not yet here
But my time was over
For it was my doom for me only to go
If everything I had gained was lost
And I was left alone
I laid myself down to rest
And there I remain until world has changed
Forgotten by men to come
And I go to the halls of men
And leave the world and my people forever
Join Estel my love
For the Evenstar has passed
And only in tale shall I be known
