No Pippin and the PalantÃr?! I find this a heinous crime... but also, Saruman's death as portrayed in the pictures... that has long been a rumour that has been disregarded and labeled a joke, also they seem to have shot about 5 or so different deaths for Sarudude... so, I'm not so sure about all these rumours... we'll have to see, I hope that it hasn't strayed too far from the books.

yes it did, which really ticks me off, because if it's to be foretold in the movie... then it should happen! if PJ planned to take out the scouring, I don't think he should have even foretold it in the mirror of Galadriel... but overall, he did a marvelous job of the first two movies and I can't wait for RoTK, that was certainly my favorite of the books, if I could pick a favorite.

oh yes, I agree. There is so much to look forward too, and yet so much to miss, like the scouring of the shire! I'm sure the movie will be a success though ;D ;D ;D

Well, I have not read the book yet, but from those I've talked to who have, the book seems to come highly recommended. It seems interesting, and I'd love to read it soon, then I could perhaps get back to you on the question

of course, I made him up... I genetically spliced Merry and Pippin (they were wearing nametags) and it turned out to be Mippin

why not Perry? or Periadoc? hmm Character (good) Frodo, Merry, and Pippin, Glorfindel Character (bad) actually, I'd have to say Caradhras.. Weapon-Sting, Hadhafang, Anduril, Glamdring (I like swords, can ya tell?) Ring-Nenya, Nerya.. aww heck throw in Vilya too Parts in the book-I loved the Ford of Bruinen, strictly in the book that is, because Glorfindel is definitely one of my favorite characters. The scouring of the Shire was great. The houses of healing, all great, all great. I especially liked Merry's connection with Rohan, and Theoden and Eowyn at Pelennor fields. Too many good scenes to list! I loved the whole thing ;D

I agree with Elbereth. Elves have seen too many sorrows...the race of men just seems over-emotional...and too easily corrupted...Dwarves are spiffy though, but I'm not too sharp with an axe, so I'll stick to hobbit. ^^
Ala can't kill me, I know how to live through her candy canes..

I'd be a hobbit, naturally. Although, I'd probably go visit the elves a lot...so that's where I got the whole 'elvish hobbit' thing... but yes, I'd be a hobbit, and live in a hobbit hole. Why? Because I think hobbits have all those perfect qualities. They are very close to nature, and just enjoy life (and a good mug o' ale!) They're stronger than they look, and (depending on what age it is) they're sometimes over-looked, and perhaps even enigmatic to other races. They're very close-knit with family and friends, and I just think that's a wonderful thing. So, if I had to be a creature of Middle-Earth, I'd definitely be a hobbit. ;D

Eruanna had sat for the longest time it seemed, gazing off into apparently nothing. Slowly she shifted her gaze and looked up. There were only a few guests at the inn yet. She peered back down again, and loosened her unconsious grip on her cloak. The cloak was very special to her, though she could not remember why anymore. Everything seemed so distant to her now.
A hobbit had walked into the inn, she was a bit wet from the summer spray outside but she did not mind. For once, it wasn't cold, all she could remember was the cold. She took a seat at a table, alone.
Quickly she glanced around and saw a few guests here and there, none too many. She saw glanced beside her, and saw an elf-maiden seated suddenly at her left. It was Eruanna. "So you have followed my footsteps," Eruanna told the hobbit. The hobbit lass slowly nodded, and she felt a chill run through her. "I see, what is you name?" Eruanna asked.
"My name?" the hobbit said, as if each word was a strain. Eruanna knew the hobbit would not reply, and already she knew the answer. "Very well, I see that you are troubled." Eruanna whispered gently to the young lass.
"My time here is short-lived," Eruanna said, to no one in particular, despite the hobbit seated beside her. She stood from the table and looked one last time around the homely inn. She wished in vain that she could one day return to the lovely place. Slowly, Eruanna withdrew her cloak from her, and she held it in her arms, feeling the soft cloth for the last time. Eruanna draped the cloak around the hobbit. "Perhaps it is a bit too large for thee, but it will be good to you." and with those words, Eruanna slowly and dismally walked out of the inn.

Eruanna looked around, and walked up to the Silver Birch Inn. She was greeted kindly at the door, and thus she smiled, feeling comforted from her travels, and strolled inside. Eruanna was a tall elf-maiden, with long flowing hair as dark as midnight, and deep blue eyes.
She walked up to the bar, and asked the barkeep for a mug of ale. "Thank you," she said as the barkeep handed her a mug. She then searched for a place to sit.
She kept her silver cloak about her, her hood draped over her head, hiding her royal blue raiment. Then, she sat at a table in the corner, alone. Eruanna was keen on observation, and watched the others. She saw an Elf maiden, who seemed quite familiar, sipping a wine and talking to another person.
Eruanna comtemplated the familiarity of the elf, and took a drink of her ale.
