Has any one seen it? It's a 70s cartoon rendering of the book--and I think it's really cute. In fact it overpowers the LOTR cartoon (<---which REALLY sucks) made before the days of the movies.

I've seen it twice when I was younger. It freaked me out at first, but then my brother discovered that the movie was based upon a book and so he started reading it. Of course I had to read it too (sibling rivalry you know) and that is how I got introduced to the wonderful world of Tolkien!

lol--poor you--I think the way they did the animation is funny. The only rendering I hated was the Wood Elves--they look more like green Santa Claus Elves--yuck!

Whichever illustrator, nay, publisher that copy of The Hobbit had ought to be shot! Poor Tolkien must have turned in his grave when that went to the printers. >:( My copy has that cool pictre of Smaug sitting atop his pile of gold on it :D I LOVE DRAGONS! :)
